Changing your home interior is a great chance to experiment and really put your own stamp on the place and make it feel as homely to you as possible. We thought we would talk about smoe home interior designs for 2020 and give you a few fresh ideas!

Black and white

Black and white as a colour scheme is a completely timeless classic. It can be used in almost any circumstances, whether your home is quite old fashioned, or it is modernised throughout the interior. It is so simple, yet has a huge impact when used as the predominant colour scheme of a room. Black and white creates drama and statement. You simply can’t go wrong with this colour scheme!

Add a touch of nature

The great thing about interior design, is that it is so diverse, and you can take any trends and use them in any way you want to. For example, nature is a great theme to have for interior design, and this can be incorporated into a room in all kinds of ways. Perhaps you could have some homestyle plants dotted around the room, or some canvas prints on the wall portraying a natural scene, or perhaps you could have wooden based, authentic looking furniture, animal print, or subtle green tones running throughout your colour scheme. However you choose to display it, adding a touch of nature to the room creates a really calm and peaceful atmosphere.

January blues

New year, new interior design? The start of a new year is a great time to change things up and have a fresh start. This applies to your home interior too, as you can upgrade the design and liven things up to be up to date with the latest trends and give your home a breath of fresh air. One colour that is predicted to be big for interior design in 2020, is blue. Blue is a very fun colour to experiment with, as it has such a huge range of different tones, from deep, dark, navy blues, to soft and subtle baby blue. It is very easy to work with and the perfect colour to spruce up your interior.

Less is more

Sometimes in interior design, a more simplistic approach can have a bigger impact. For example, subtle and plain colours, minimal texture and patterns, no overly extravagant furniture or accessories. Having a simple interior can be very calming and relaxing, and in fact create more of a statement than going big and bold with your design. We would certainly vouch for the saying ‘less is more’!

A more sustainable home

We all like to make efforts in various aspects of our lives to be more sustainable and care for our environment a little better. This applies to our homes and the interior design, too. There are all sorts of ways you can become more sustainable, and lots more people are getting on board with this in 2020. For example, you can get furniture made from locally sourced materials, secondhand items, items made from recycled products and materials. Sometimes, this can look a little different, but it creates a statement within your home, all whilst making your own environment more sustainable.

Curved sofas

Furniture is very diverse, and it always comes down to personal taste. However, something that looks to be big this year, are curved sofas. Although a little old fashioned, these sofas are very classy and glamorous and instantly change the whole vibe of your home. They are a bit of an investment as they will cost more than most other types of sofas, however they are perfect if you are looking to make a statement and want to give your home a bit of an upgrade.

Two toned kitchens

Quite a big home interior trend we are expecting to take over in 2020, is two toned kitchens. Having two contrasting colours throughout your kitchen is becoming a lot more popular, and creates a very dynamic and powerful effect. You can feed these colours throughout your kitchen in all sorts of ways, through appliances, accessories, to cabinets, work tops, furniture and more.

These are just a small handful of home interior trends for 2020. If you would like some more information or ideas, or if you would like to speak to us about redecorating your home, simply get in touch with us via our contact page and we will be more than happy to help.
